We Belgians know a thing or two about chocolate, that's no secret. We know different tastes and qualities and we dare to make a comparison with chocolate. Alkaline Trio reminds us of a big, smooth, shining bar of the purest chocolate. It's deep black, very bitter and sweet as honey. You can feel its deliciousness in your body but it isn't always healthy. Matt Skiba, Dan Adriano and Derek Grant are not afraid to release their goodness onto the world in a melted and mild version like they did with their latest semi acoustic album 'Damnesia'. However, they also dare to be very sharp and explicit as we could notice in their shows like the one on Pukkelpop. Wij Belgen kennen iets van chocolade, dat zal wel geen groot geheim zijn. We kennen verschillende smaken en kwaliteiten en durven al eens een parallel met chocolade trekken. Zo doet Alkaline Trio ons denken aan een grote, strakke, blinkende blok van de puurste chocolade. Het is diep zwart, heel erg bitter en mierzoet tegelijk. Het doet je lijf veel goed maar is daarom niet altijd gezond.
