Voice : Like the saying that one has a babyface, you could also say someone has a babyvoice, like Mike Herrera.

Why check : the man already proved with MxPx that he has an ear for recognizing hits. His profession is to write pleasant melodies and sing-along poppunk songs. Currently Herrera is focussed on folk pop songs flavoured with country and a slight hint of Americana. Singer-songwriter stuff without getting boring because Mike continues to write great catchy songs.

Stemgeluid: als je kunt zeggen dat iemand een babyface heeft, kun je ook zeggen dat hij, zoals Herrera, een babyvoice heeft.

Waarom checken: de man bewees met MxPx al dat hij een hitgevoelig oor heeft. Leuke melodieën uit de lucht plukken, tot meezingen uitnodigende poppunksongs schrijven: dat is zijn métier. Of beter gezegd dat was zijn métier. Nu legt Herrera zich voornamelijk toe op folky popsongs die getint zijn met wat country en neigen naar Americana. Singer-songwriter stuff zonder saai te worden want Mike blijft toch vooral geweldig catchy nummertjes schrijven.
