Reel Big Fish

In the 90's punkrock got big again. Lots of bands, amongst them Rancid off course, got their inspiration from The Clash and dared to put a ska sound into their punk. One of the most important, funny and exciting bands from that scene was and still is Reel Big Fish. They're one of a few skapunk bands that still combine ultra sing-along poppunk rock songs with hypercatchy ska and exciting horns. Aaron Barrett still chases his troops across the stage like a tornado and guarantees that every RBF show turns into a top party. We advise you to stretch and drink beforehand and leave all shyness behind. Skank it!

In de jaren negentig werd punkrock terug groot. Veel bands, waaronder uiteraard Rancid, haalden hun mosterd bij The Clash en durfden dus al eens een scheut ska in hun punk draaien. Uit die zoetzure combinatie, die bleek te werken en aan te slaan, ontstond een heel nieuwe scene, een heel nieuw genre. Een van de belangrijkste, leukste en opwindendste bands uit die scene was en is Reel Big Fish. Ze combineren als een van de weinig overgebleven skapunks nog steeds ultrameezingbare poppunkrocksongs met hyperaanstekelijke ska en opwindende blazers. Aaron Barrett jaagt zijn troepen nog altijd als een wervelwind over het podium en garandeert dat elke RBF-show een topfuif wordt. We raden aan om vooraf goed te stretchen, goed te drinken en alle verlegenheid aan de tentflap achter te laten. Skank it!
