Unlike many legends who'll be playing at Groezrock this weekend the Slapshot show won't be a reunion show. Slapshot never quitted! This Boston seminal hardcore band has been touring the world since 1985 and has 8 full cds, a bunch of eps and loads of fanatic fans on their curriculum vitae. Jake 'Choke' Kelly is the only original member left in the band and of course the style of music changed in all this time. What's still the same is that these hockey fanatics feel at their best when they can rage and pound! Throughout the years Slapshot showed us, Europeans, how a succesful bodycheck had to be performed. Their last Belgian show was in 2009 at Trix venue. Now they're playing Groezrock 2012 and they'll bring some authentic and influential Boston Hardcore!

In tegenstelling tot veel andere legendes die dit weekend op Groezrock spelen is de Slapshot-show geen reünie-optreden. Slapshot is namelijk nooit gestopt! Al sinds 1985 dendert deze Bostonse seminale hardcoreband de wereld rond met ondertussen 8 full-cd’s, een handvol EP’s en drommen fanatieke supporters op hun cv. Van de stichtende leden van de band blijft enkel Jake ‘Choke’ Kelly nog over, en de muzikale stijl veranderde doorheen de jaren ook wel eens. Het best voelen deze hockeyfanatics zich nog steeds als ze kunnen raggen en beuken! Doorheen de jaren kwam Slaphot in Europa vaak en graag tonen hoe een geslaagde bodycheck diende uitgevoerd te worden en was in 2009 het laatst in België met een show in Trix. Nu staan ze op Groezrock 2012 voor wat authentieke en invloedrijke Boston Hardcore!
